NEW DEPARTMENT

Methodist's newest addition, a brand new department in a newly constructed building, opened in August 2006 and features state of the art technology and layout. It is designed to have all of the best features of many well researched departments, including 50 patient beds, a dedicated women's-care suite, fast-track area, positive pressure isolation rooms, Pixus drug dispensing technology, an asthma care center, PACS radiology viewing systems, centralized supply stores, basic supplies at each bedside, logical department organization, Cerner PowerChart order entry pods, a resident lounge, lockers, directly adjacent conference rooms, the ability to see all parts of the department from centralized workspaces, and everything else one would expect of a modern department.The department space has been designed from scratch and significant thought has gone into developing a department that will be efficient, aesthetically pleasing, and staff friendly.
